VALERO CLASSICS SERIES HIGHLIGHTS:

The Valero Classics Series will feature fabulous works by some of the most renowned composers of all time! Opening night features Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 along with the Mastersingers and terrific soloists. Our winter festival, Las Américas, features music of composers from North and South America, including Gershwin, Bernstein and many others. Other season highlights include Brahms’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 1 performed by Peter Serkin and Rachmaninoff’s captivating Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini performed by Olga Kern. Violin sensation Sarah Chang will perform Bruch’s romantic Violin Concerto No. 1. The season concludes with Mahler’s compelling Symphony No. 1, “Titan.” This season spotlights superb artists: marvelous pianists, amazing singers, a remarkable cellist, three dynamic violin soloists, including our own extraordinary concertmaster, Eric Gratz, performing Barber’s Violin Concerto.
