Announcing 2020-2021 Virtual G6-12 Discovery Concert
This spring, the San Antonio Symphony will be professionally recording a G6-12 Discovery Concert at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. The recording will be made freely available to schools and classrooms with advance registration. There will be no limit to the number of schools or classrooms that can register to receive the resource link.
Educators will need to pre-register online to receive the link to video resources. Schools and educators will have the flexibility to present the video material to students on the date and time of their choosing following the release dates in the spring.
The planned virtual presentation will include colorful visual enhancements, conductor analysis, and supporting demos from the orchestra in the roughly 50-minute concert recording. Click the image above for program information and to pre-register.
G6-12 Discovery Concerts are educational field trip opportunities specifically tailored to students of middle and high school age, particularly those participating in school music programs such as band, orchestra, mariachi and choir. An extension of our award-winning Young People’s Concert Series for elementary students, G6-12 Discovery Concerts present symphonic masterpieces supported by engaging visual enhancements and TEKS-aligned concepts in greater depth and complexity so as to engage an active audience of students grades 6-12.
