Tobin Center for the Performing Arts
Presented in partnership with the Weill Music Institute of Carnegie Hall, Link Up guides students grades 3–5 and music teachers through a months-long exploration of orchestral repertoire supported by extensive, freely-provided curriculum materials and online resources. The program culminates in an inclusive performance, at which students are invited to actively participate through movement, by playing recorder or string instrument, and singing along with the orchestra. This year’s Link Up program, The Orchestra Sings, explores melody as a universal element of music, as well as how melodies are made and how great composers use them. Through the Link Up repertoire, curriculum activities and interactive Symphony concert, together we will discover how the orchestra sings!
Participation in this program requires attendance of a free teacher workshop at the Tobin Center on either Thurs., Nov. 2, 4:30 - 6:30 pm, or Sat., Nov. 4, 10:00 am - 12:30 pm.
