One of his most enduringly popular pieces, Rachmaninoff’s second piano concerto combines musical intimacy and sensuality with grand, monumental sound the way only Rachmaninoff can. Soloist and San Antonio Symphony’s Artist-in-Residence Olga Kern is now recognized as one of her generation’s great pianists. Her vivid stage presence, passionately confident musicianship, and extraordinary technique continue to captivate fans and critics alike. Debussy’s Prélude à “L’Après-midi d’un faune” and Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique accompany the concerto, making this a night of music you won’t want to miss!
