Elgar: Concerto in E minor for Cello and Orchestra, Op. 85
Beethoven: Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125
One of the most iconic works ever composed, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony exemplifies the message of universal brotherhood, bringing all peoples together in song. Maestro Lang-Lessing calls Beethoven’s final symphony “one of the most powerful works of art in the history of humanity.” The San Antonio Symphony is joined by marvelous, local soloists and full chorus singing Friedrich Schiller’s elated “Ode to Joy” in this powerful work celebrating our love and gratitude for our San Antonio community.
