One of Mozart’s merriest symphonies, the “Prague” delights with its buoyant fast movements and tranquil and contented middle movement. Pianist Andrew Armstrong is praised by critics for his passionate expression and astonishing technique and has received over 25 national and international First Prizes. He is also devoted to outreach programs and playing for children.
Shostakovich’s Ninth, his shortest symphony, is almost classical in nature with crisp articulation, transparent orchestration and a virtual absence of dissonant harmony, and a bright mood throughout.
