Explore the solar system while getting to know a symphonic masterpiece in detail: Gustav Holst’s famous orchestral suite The Planets.

Written between 1914 and 1916, each movement of The Planets describes the mythological character for which the heavenly bodies were named. Join us as we delve into this out-of-this-world work! Students will also learn basic scientific information about each planet and about how their names were chosen by early astronomers.
