The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts is a Presenting Partner for this program.
Join the Symphony on a magic carpet ride into the world of wise queen Scheherazade! This ELA/Reading-themed program will feature excerpts from the literary classic, 1,001 Arabian Nights, including the tales of Sindbad the Sailor and his seven voyages. Discover how master composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov painted these imaginative legends into a beautiful symphonic story! Through TEKS-aligned preparatory activities and teaching materials, students will learn new vocabulary using context clues and about literary elements such as character types, theme and moral lessons.
