About the film:
What brings a group of percussionists, a major symphony orchestra, and a composer—who may be more widely known for his previous gig in a British rock trio—together? The opportunity to create a new piece of music combining the traditions of the orchestral world with the native music of percussion instruments from around the globe.
Dare to Drum — Director/produce/screenwriter, John Bryant is a percussionist with D’Drum, the internationally recognized world percussion group, and has over 25 years of experience in film post-production as a producer, composer and music supervisor for many Emmy Award winning documentary and feature films. Bryant teaches music production and drum set at SMU in Dallas, where he is also the Director of the Meadows Jazz Orchestra.
