Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets In Concert

The Harry Potter Film Concert Series returns to the Majestic Theatre with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert, the second chapter in the Harry Potter film series. On Friday, October 13, 2017 at 8pm and Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2 and 8pm, the San Antonio Symphony will perform John Williams’ unforgettable score live from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, while the film plays in high-definition on a 40-foot screen. The Harry Potter Film Concert Series, which is another magical experience from J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, kicked off in June 2017 with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and is scheduled to include hundreds of performances across more than 35 countries around the world through 2018.

Fresh off “Fiesta fun defining” performances of Fiesta Pops, the San Antonio Symphony progresses on to a dazzling line-up of spring and summer performances that include a Metropolitan Opera superstar, the Spanish maestro of the guitar, a celebration of one of the greatest film composers of all time, a Grammy award-winner’s debut performance with the Symphony, and a show that everyone needs to see at least once that wonders, surprises and enchants audiences of all ages!

From Gospel to Soul to Broadway

(San Antonio, TX) The San Antonio Symphony presents the incredible vocals of Broadway’s Capathia Jenkins in From Gospel to Soul to Broadway, January 20-21, 2017 at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. Capathia Jenkins is known for her show-stopping numbers in the musicals Newsies, Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me and the 2000 off-Broadway revival of Godspell. Ms. Jenkins brings power and soul to the stage, taking the audience on a journey from the electrifying depths of Rhythm and Blues to Gospel to a love affair with classic Broadway songs.

2017-2018 Season Announcement

San Antonio (March 13, 2017) – The San Antonio Symphony is thrilled to announce its 2017-2018 Symphony season! Performance highlights include a September special featuring internationally renowned pianist Emanuel Ax; a diverse Tricentennial Festival lineup; a tribute to Leonard Bernstein honoring his 100th birthday; a Classics Series with 32 sensational performances; and 16 dazzling concerts in the H-E-B POPS Series at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts.

San Antonio Symphony Focuses on the Future

(San Antonio, TX) The San Antonio Symphony announces that Former Vice President of Concert Production, Karina Bharne has been named Vice President and General Manager. Bharne joined the San Antonio Symphony in October of 2011 serving as Director of Orchestra Personnel, and shares dedication to the future success of the Symphony.
